Standing in Deep Waters

with your strength all gone
you are standing in deep waters
waiting for the waves to come
to help you to shore
if it comes the wrong way
and sweeps you deeper into trouble
will you take your breath and wait
for it to take you to your end
will you summon your inner strength
and try to swim against the tides
will you close you eyes and pray
that God will take control
will you look the waves in the eye
and tell it to change
cos  of the son/daughter of who you are?
would you pray
in the name of your father?

you see a hand above you
will you look up to see who's
will you grab it to safety
would you trust  the saviour
to take away the danger
to once more save your life
or would you try to do it alone
suffering like you've always been doing
would you call upon his name
or will you remain stubborn
saying like the fool would; there is no God
even when you know you are wrong
will you call on his name
or will you lean on your ignorance
would you want to live
would you want to die in your folly
when help is but a prayer away.
